If you’ve ever looked around the fantasy sports world, you’ve probably noticed that the names of fantasy teams can vary tremendously. Some people choose to go with boring team names like a regular NFL team name or the name of the city in which they live. There’s nothing wrong with this, but fantasy sports are all about customization.
You’re the owner of a team.
You draft the players.
You have a say in who stays and who goes.
So, you should put a little bit of time and effort into your team name and logo.
You can go a couple routes on this. You can just pick a cool name that you feel represents you, and then either create a logo, use a default image, or pull one off the internet.
Or, what many people do is come up with a play-on-words or pun of a current NFL player’s name. Some examples of the best ones that I’ve seen include:
- Texas Chainsaw Massaquoi
- Green-Ellis and Ham
- Favre Dollar Footlong
- Somewhere over Dwayne Bowe
Naming your team something like this can add a little more excitement and fun to the league. Here are a few that I’ve come up with over the years:
- Belichick Yourself
- MTV Cribbs
- The Curious Case of Benjamin Watson
- It’s not A. Toomer
